Hello!
I posted this before, but here are some additions and clarifications.
Once again, thank you for your time and thought!
Some files that were create in Word 97 have an odd problem in Word 2000
and Word XP running on Windows XP . Imagine this: You go to print a
document and click on File/Print in the menu bar. To your dismay, the
Print dialogue box does not show up. Instead, Word is unresponsive to
mouse or keyboard and the title bar is flashing...
I found that right clicking on the taskbar button for that Word document
brings the Print dialogue box to the forefront. All works as it should
from that point on. Some other points of information: File/Save and
File/Properties have the same problem; this happens when you click on
the file to open it in Word, NOT when you open the file from within
Word; after you right click on the taskbar button, the problem goes away
for good for that document - you can save after you print for example;
going to the Print button works fine (as does the save icon).
Would anyone have any idea why this happens and what could be done to
stop this, admittedly minor but highly obnoxious behavior?
Thank you very much!
