Mary,

Nope, no confusion, I'm setup the same way as you, (*70 before dialing).
The caller ID just one of the reasons I bought the modem I did, to be able
to avoid the whole 'missed call/ call waiting/ second line/ 3rd party'
decision mess.

If the modem itself could popup a message saying 'so-so is calling - do you
want to ignore or disconnect and answer?' it would make life a little
easier.  I have 'call waiting ID' from the phone company, so SOMETHING
should be possible.
