You need to change the file association.
Hold the shift key, right click any of these files, select "Open With",
select Word, select "...always use..." and all similar documents should open
in Word in the future.

.How do I get files to open in Word format instead of Wordpad format???
Every thing in my documents was put there in Word format...I have Microsoft
Office 97 Professionl on my computer...Can anyone help me with this
problem???
