First, you have posted this message to a mailing list devoted to PC application
software. This is clearly a hardware issue and should have been posted to
PCBUILD where you would find more people able to assist you.

I have seen this issue on a few occasions, typically it is a hardware conflict.
This is typical when upgrading from Win95 to Win98. Usually, it concerns
some of the UDMA33 hard drives, such as Quantum's Big Foot drives. It
also is typical of FIC's VA-503+ motherboard.

I would recommend you post to PCBUILD with a complete list of the hardware
in your system, motherboard - hard drives and so forth, so we can offer
better advice based on your system profile. But, I will be honest with you
that the easiest cure for a system with these particular components listed
above is to just migrate back to Windows95, understanding that often even
the work-around may not solve all the issues.

But, be sure to post to PCBUILD with all your system information and detail
your error messages and problems. We need that information in order
to offer you advice based on the facts.
