I know this is a simple question, and an answer that I'm obviously overlooking, but . . . Recently, my office machine running Win98 SE lists icons in a folder (e.g., I open the folder with my label printer addresses), and the icons (by "list" view) are listed by most recent access rather than alphabetically as in the past. I can change "Arrange Icons" and select by name, and such happens. But, upon exiting and returning to a folder, the folders/icons are again listed by most recent access, not by name (alphabetically).
What do I do to have icons consistently listed by name and not date of access?
Thanks,
Ed Nottingham
