I just fixed this one last Friday night.
The problem is that your telephon.ini file is corrupted. I did the
un-install and re-install thing but that won't fix this error. (As a side
note, un-installing DUN is a l-o-n-g procedure that entails manually
deleting a lot of files. You can't just add/remove like some other
components. There's a KB article telling how.)
But to fix your problem. Go to windows directory and rename the
telephon.ini file (or delete it if you are brave). Then re-boot. Go to
windows/system and find the file tapiini.exe. Double click this file to
make it execute... it will go so quickly that you won't think it did
anything. Then go and look in windows and you should see a new and
un-corrupted telephon.ini file. If you are curious you can open the old
ini file in notepad or similar and you should see some "weird" characters
where it is corrupted.
I had a hard time finding this one! Good luck.
