Hello,
I have a client who has Norton's Systemworks on his system. When ever he
runs Disk Doctor, he gets a message stating that DD is trying to fix the
DOS Boot Record. After a few seconds, it stops and says that Boot Record
can not be repaired and can't continue checking the rest of the drive.
My questions is, is the DOS Boot Record the same as the Master Boot record?
and how do I fix it? I seem to remember in a past message that this can
be done by running SETUP /MBR. If this is correct will it delete any data
on the drive? His system is backed up weekly but it would be nice to know
whether or not that will wipe the drive clean or not.
TIA,
Jorge Ocasio
