Hi Byron,
Compatibility IS the problem with the Roxio software and may be with the
Pinnacle (I haven't used it). Easy CD Creator 4 is not compatible with XP
and there are no updates for it. If your friend chooses to stay with Roxio,
he'll have to go to version 5 or 6. I have used both with XP, with all the
updates for version 5, with no problems.
If he wants to stay ahead in the game, one option is to buy a DVD-RW/CD-RW
drive (most all are XP compatible) and use the included software. Mine came
with Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 Basic. DVD-RWs are cheap now compared
to a few months ago and continue to drop in price. They will eventually
replace the lone CD-RW.

Subject: Re: [PCSOFT] cd burn software
A friend of mine recently upgraded from Me to XP. His Easy CD v4 worked
fine on Me, but it ways it has a compatibility problem with XP. Okay... he
went out and bought some Pinnacle CD burn software. When it is writing, it
has a problem and can't burn. Uninstalled twice and tried again, but same
thing. I told him maybe he should stick with Roxio or RecordNow.
Any inputs on this? What could be the problem?
