Darrell,

There must be a problem with the data file.  Access (versions 2.0,
7.0, and 97)  can import dBase data files with no problem at all.

Click FILE--> GET EXTERNAL DATA--> IMPORT.  Access is not smart enough
to able to "look" at the file and figure out it's format, so you must
open the FILE TYPE box and select DBASE III before completing the
import.
