asks in PCSOFT #1999-150 - 05/29/99:
"What programs open up '.rtf' files?"
The .rtf files are "rich text format" files, which contain an amount of
formatting, as opposed to a plain text document. They are generated
principally, if not exclusively by Microsoft Word - most versions.
Microsoft offers a stand-alone reader for Word documents, which MUST include
.rtf files, and which will read and print documents, but will not edit.
Go to ZDNet's Software Library to get the FREE download right 'chere:

(URL may render as two lines, so you may need to copy it and paste,
rather than click).
Or, you can buy Office 2000, for just a little less than a complete
Photoshop
package.
