Leon, in your initial post you said:

My and other replies presumed that your OS was Windows 98. The fix that I
suggested trying was to disable Fast Shutdown. I cannot find  anything about
Fast Shutdown under Win 95.

Can anyone suggest a Win 95 solution to Leon's problem or where to locate
Fast Shutdown in Win 95?

I am using Win 95 and cannot find the system information utility to disable
fast shutdown.
