hi all,i will very much appreciate if some one can guide me on a problem a
friend is having.ok his os is win xp and i dont think any other system details are required for the problem but if needed i will send another post.the problem is that whenever he connects to the net(dialup access)and for example accesses his hotmail account after a couple of minutes his computer spontaneously reboots and the cycle goes on with the result that he is simply unable to browse.he has even tried to browse with netscape but still same problem.any idea how this happens and how to get over it? whilst on the subject a very strange incident happened and since i think this will be of interest to members i am mentioning it here

on the problem mentioned above since i thought that i may get a clue from previous posts i was browsing the pc soft archives f
or sep and after about an hour or so of browsing i got a strange msg on the browser that "on attemting to connect to maelstrom.stjohns.edu permission was not granted" and no page will open.i even tried disconnecting the line and reconnecting but still same msg.i was however able to go to other sites without any problem.i must add that the browser i was using was mozilla firefox since it does seem that the problem is related to this because i shut off mozilla and tried IE and everything is fine.in fact this post is with IE. sorry for the long post but i hope it will be of interest to others.thanks very much and have a nice day-venkat viswanathan
