From: Robert Cooke :Subject: [PCSOFT] reloading windows still having
trouble(3)
> My freind is still having trouble reloading windows. Here is a little more
information about the trouble. The system is a Packard Bell 150mhz,48Ram. I
am not sure what version of 95 he has running. But he is trying to reload
without formatting. Should he shut down everything that is running in the
task before trying to reload? When he trys to reload he gets a message that
control panel settings have change since windows was last installed to
restart. So he does gets to the same point and gets the same message. He has
also tried from DOS with no luck. It was suggested that if he had a diamond
video card .To check and see if he had a red and white diamond icon in the
system tray and close or exit . That was'nt the trouble. But I would like to
say thak you to the person that suggested it! Any ideas?

I remember having the same problem with Win95 and I think I was able to
reinstall it by using the Win 95 boot disk to reinstall. I installed to the
same directory and can't remember whether I had to reinstall my programs or
not.
