Greetings--
This will probably work for files and folders, too, however; Mr. Smith asked about copying files for transfer, as opposed to text. If one isn't using an application (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, NotePad) where one can select a 'body of text', and is interested in just copying files or folders, the method of using 'control + a' to select all files or folders in a directory (folder), then 'control + c' (as you've suggested for text ) will copy all files/folders to the clipboard. Identifying the target for the copied files/folders, then double-clicking to open it, will make the 'control + v' paste command copy the highlighted files/folders to that location.
I hope this hasn't muddied the waters...

Al,
My favorite...
Hi-light the text, hold down control key and press
"c" to copy.
Then hi-light and press control and "v" to paste.

In my early days computing someone showed me a way
to click 2 keys which would
capture a huge lot of files for transfer. I've
forgotten how to do it. Can someone help me
learn it again? Thank you, Al Smith
