I would like to keep IE5 if I could. I wasn't sure if uninstalling would
help, but that was a last resort I guess. I have access to download IE5
again so that wouldn't be a problem. As far as more information regrading
the freezing up, here goes. It most often occurs only at one site, Free
Lotto which I visit daily. Its a site where you choose numbers from a board
and wait for it to confirm your numbers. Most times, not all times, while
confirming the numbers, my hourglass just stops and freezes up, period. No
error messages of any kind. It happens almost once every time I try and
visit the site. I try to escape or use Ctrl, Alt, Del, but I cannot get the
close programs screen to even come up. I end up just restarting the
computer and it runs a scan every time. The scan almost every time tells me
there is 4096 bytes or something with a problem and I tell it to fix them.
Almost every time it is exactly the same amount, 4096 bytes. The only other
times I have a freezing problem is at a site that has casino gambling and
the same thing will happen. The hourglass just stops turning and I am
stuck! That's why I wondered if it was anything to do with Java or virtual
machine? Someone else also mentioned my display graphics driver might need
updating and suggested I visit the Hewlette Packard site, which I intend to
do soon as I get a chance. Is this enough information or is there something
else I can tell you about the freezing up issue? thanks, Jan
