Good afternoon,
I think the confusion here is stemming from which AOL 3.0 people have
installed. The 16-bit version does not have an uninstall feature in the
Windows Add/Remove control panel, but the 32-bit version indeed does, or at
least should. And the RM_aol.exe file is what is called when you use the
control panel to remove the program. As was mentioned before the best way
to uninstall AOL 3.0 32-bit is to use the control panel and deselect the
"Fast Mode". This way you can choose the directory that you want to
eliminate. This removes any 3.0 specific registry entries and files no
longer needed. I would advise against just deleting the directory, as I
used to work at AOL as a tech support rep and have seen many people create
frustration by going that route, and yet some that did just delete the
directory and were fine. But the recommended way to use the Add/Remove
programs and make sure to uncheck the box that says "Fast Mode". Then select
the directory that you want removed.

Dave,

I would not use the uninstaller in Win95, as it might take out some of the
files the AOL4 will need to function. All you should do is locate the old
directory where AOL3 resided and delete the directory.

It is that simple.
