Hi Tammy,
I suggest you read this article by Kim Komando at the Microsoft Small
Business Center. Her suggestion of reformatting the drive and reinstalling
the operating system will suffice in most cases. However, if you do have
sensitive data that could be retrieved by someone determined to do so, you
should use software designed to overwrite the disk with data many, many
times. Programs are available for purchase that will do this and are
purported to meet military standards. There is a free program called Eraser
that's very good. Check the link to the review below for information on it.
