I perform scandisk and disk defrag using Norton Utilities 2001 once a week.
No problems with my system at all.  I am using WinME.  Of course, I always
run scandisk first then disk defrag.  However, I am using a selective start
up because in WinME there were so many diagnostic programs built in running
in the background all the time.

I've heard "never defrag WinME unless you in a safe mode" & "never ever
defrag WinME in any mode"  without suffering serious consequences, leading to
refomatting your hard drive. Pro & Con comments. Thanks,  Bill
