Hi,
I have a Win98 came along with PentII 350 I purchased two month ago. It's alright, I noticed some
slight difference from Win95. Yeah a bit faster in the first two weeks.
However in the process of adding up more and more application, the system is getting slower and
sometimes gives me wsome strange errors.
Lately the instance that I'm having difficulty dealing with is the "shutdown" task.
When I try to shutdown Win98, it will close all the programs and prompts me to "Windows 98 Shutting
Down" and then it stays that way forever (never go off). The screen still got the nice Windows 98
display in front of the seemingly turbulent clouds. (I know it's Win98 logo and they think it's really
nice)
Now, I always have to forcefully reset it or turn the power off in order for me to reboot the system.
However, after rebooting, I get to "scandisk" task which takes a longer time to process (scan the disk
for some errors aparrently), and would say the system was not properly shutdown.
Any thoughts to eliminate this kind of problem. I truly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Sixto B.
