Hi all:

I have run into a major problem on a machine and cannot figure out why.

The machine:

Pentium 3 class
320 meg ram
Win 98 SE
cd burner
cdrom
128 meg video
IE 6.1 SP1

Problem is the following:

They had an issue with Quicktime and it was also coming up with an
exception error in kernel32.dll and would crash the machine.  I fixed that
aspect of it by uninstalling quicktime and rebooting.  I also disabled OSA
from starting and disabled msn messenger from starting as well using the
msconfig utility.

Upon rebooting after using msconfig, I find now that I cannot use windows
explorer as it crashes the machine.  Also any downloads via Internet
explorer, when you go and browse, gives you the same result.  I did a
repair on Internet explorer and rebooted, and still same results.  When I
go to the start menu and click on run/browse, also get the same results.

Wondering what to do as this is a real problem.  Most apps run fine, and IE
seems to run fine as well.  It is just anything that needs a file browser.
