Clear Day
My dear brainiacs,

I have a new computer (WinXP Home) that came with a 90 day trial version of Norton Anti-virus 2004 pre-installed and I have been using it. I want to uninstall it and then install the Norton System Works 2004 that I have purchased. The trial ends in July so I don't want to take any action now that might cause me grief later. Thus, I am seeking advice on the best way to proceed.

The user's guide for NSW 2004 says earlier versions of NAV or NSW will automatically be removed when installing NSW 2004 unless they are versions earlier than 2002. In that case older versions must be uninstalled first. In my situation, I am installing NSW 2004 so I assume I would be installing NAV 2004 (as part of NSW) over itself. I guess my real question is this: Should I uninstall the Trial NAV first or just install the NSW 2004 and all will be well? As I said I'm trying to avoid a future hassle regarding the trial version.

If I'm being paranoid, tell me so and I will clonk myself in the head--gently.

Mike Williams

P.S. The NSW 2004 was a free upgrade (rebates) and the offer may still be available.
