Check your file type associations; probably you uninstalled an imaging app
that was associated with this file type.  Easy fix:  select file, and while
holding down shift key right click and select Open With; check the box
"Always use this progam...."  then either scroll or browse to the app you
want to use to view and/or edit the image.
