I recently took all my files off of old computer and put them on my new one. The easiest and simplest way for me was to get a "USB Bridge Cable", which will connect both computers together via the usb ports.  It is a plug and play and comes with everything you need.  Very simple to use.  The cost is $49 at your local computer store.
