Hi I have belonged to your list a long time but haven't posted anything for
years. I don't remember the format I am supposed to use but here is my
question - my Dell Dimension 4300S will not get past an error message to
boot up. The message reads "LuCallbackproxy.exe Application Error" on the
top and then it says "The application failed to initialize properly
(OXC00000142). Click on OK to terminate application."

 

When I click on "OK" it does nothing - does not terminate application
(whatever application it is?) and the message doesn't go away and I can't
get into my computer.

 

I cannot reboot from this screen (ctl-alt-del) so I have turned off the
computer, waiting some time and re-turned on and I continue to get the
message.

 

It is running Windows XP with Service Pack 2, Pentium III (I think) 1 Ghz,
256k RAM.

 

I do not know what application this error is referring to. Any assistance?
