If your Bios does not recognize your cd-rom check your jumper settings in lieu of that check the cord connections to the motherboard. Also check to see if you have put the cord in upside down. I realize these seem obvious but it is the most likely cause. If not check with another cd-rom if it sees that and not the other one you may have a bad cd-rom . Also check your bios to make sure you didn't turn off one of your IDE ports.
