Jim,

I beta tested Windows Me for 6 months and one of the first things I noticed
was that there was no System File Checker that I used quite a bit under
Windows 98. I contacted the Windows Beta Team(love that friendly name):(
and was told that there were problems with System File Checker because, say
you updated a Windows program, the SFC would put in an old dll from the
Windows CD if a file on that updated program became corrupted. They now have
something called System File Protection which, you guessed it, works
automatically in the background to keep your system uncorrupted. Yea ,
right! Dumbing down again. But I still like Me better than 98SE.
