In my opinion, the only thing good that came from MMX technology was a
dubious TV commercial with people in shiny suits jumping up and down and
dancing all around.
The Multi Media eXtensions help your PC process video and audio a little
bit more efficiently, but this is only helpful if you want to watch the
"mini-movies" that have been added to the help systems of most newer
software..... 'course, if you have ever viewed one of them, you already
know that there is lots of "glitz" but very little useful content in them.
Since you are keeping the older motherboard, go for the speed and don't
worry about the MMX.
