Thanks for your reply.  YOU ALL ARE GREAT!  I called the person who 
up-graded my system.  He mentioned that I don't need to de-frag, etc.  What 
shows up when I go to system tools is an ad for a company called web design 
asking me to pay for their service.  Like they say, something doesn't 
compute!  I do have the install disk.  Should I run it anyway?

And, my issue about continuing to get italics when I e-mail hasn't been 
addressed.  Thanks for good advice. mjt
