Hi again jan,
When you say that you clean your temp files, do you mean the Temp folder in
Windows that is just above the Temporoary Internet Files? If that's what you
mean I'd be very careful about playing around in there. Sometimes there are
files stored there that certain applications use. For example, if you have
Norton Utilities installed on your computer then you most likely created a
set of rescue disks when you first installed it, the same thing goes for
Norton Antivirus. If you have both NAV and NU on your system , they both use
the same rescue file when it is time to update your rescue disks. This
rescue file is located in this Temp folder and if you delete this file then
the next time you try to update the set of rescue disks you are likely to
get an error message saying that it cannot perform the task because of an
error in the registry. You would then have to go to Start/Run and enter a
restore command for he rescue file. Another thing is that sometimes Windows
uses this folder when it manages memory via it's Swap File. It may store an
inactive application and it's data here in order to give resources to the
currently active program. So you should not delete files from this folder,
specially when windows is running because an application that is loaded and
waiting in the background might be dependent on them.
