David,
I took AVG off my system because even though it is a good free choice,
Avast is infinitely superior - easy to use, faster scanning than AVG, fully
automated new virus definitions are automatically installed every few days,
the full version is free for home use, and it finds more viruses (I have
tested with sample (safe) attack viruses to prove it was the best - it
detected viruses that AVG couldn't.)
I also use Trend Micro's anti-virus as a second viral checking method. (It
came with another program so I do not pay for it. probably not necessary
though! as Avast AV does the job) Get it at:
