Hi myra, dunno if this will be any help or is even related but I remember 
Sony got busted recently
for their CD's installing a rootkit as part of their DRM
I'm just wondering if the software for the MP3 player is trying to do or 
does something similar
Just a thought that occured to me when I read it was a Sony product might 
not be related
but might be worth investigation
