This is an add on to last post.  Since this just happened I can explain it, I
hope.

I have a program called Intel Connect, which I use as an answering machine,
but can also be used for faxing, making phone calls, and I don't know what
else.  (I think it can also do video phone stuff.)  I could give you more
details, but I can't get to the program.

What has been happening lately intermittently, usually with the Intel
Connect, is that the task bar shows the program is running, the regular phone
answering display is on my desk top, but when I move my cursor over it, the
cursor disappears, and is nonfunctioning.  When I left click the program in
the task bar to bring the program to the fore of the screen, nothing happens.
When I right click on it in the task bar, the choices (minimize, maximize,
etc.) flash on the screen for an instant, and then are gone.

alt-cont-del says Intel Connection is not responding. (duh!)

When I just pressed Start/settings/control panel, nothing happened, and my
task bar became inoperative for several minutes.  When I clicked on My
Computer icon on the desk top, then pressed Control Panel, it came up,
although the flashlight was needed for a few seconds to find it.  Eventually,
my task bar started functioning again.

Put together with my last post, are any of these related?  Do you know where
I can rent an ax so I can dispose of this computer properly?
