Had the same problem. XP seems to require that the account under which the
scedule is to run must have a password and the task schedule must be given
the password. It would not work without an actual account password. It
worked when I complied with the password requirement, however every time XP
started I had to enter the password. I finally got fed up with it and now
remember to manually do all the update and maintenance functions. Win98 was
a lot more user friendly than is XP in many areas.

Does anyone know a proven way around this problem?
