Subject: Win98 StartUp choices
Hello, In Win95 at start up when you see: "Starting Windows 95" you have a
few seconds to push the F5 or F8 keys for start up options. I am inquiring
about Win98, since it never shows message: "Starting Windows 98", is this
option available and when do you push the key.
William, yes it is. When you see the wording, "Press DEL to enter Setup" or
words to that effect, hit and hold the CTRL key down. You could also do
this: When you are in Win 98, click START-SHUTDOWN-RESTART. Then as you
click OK, hit and hold the CTRL key down. Both ways will take you to the
Startup Options.
Also, I have been told that
pushing Ctrl or Shift before Win98 starts will give this option menu, but I
have been unsuccessful in trying this. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thank you, William
According to Microsoft HELP [START-HELP-SEARCH and enter Startup Options]
some computers use the F8 key instead of the CTRL key. I have never seen a
reference to using the SHIFT key.
Good computing,
Peter Darrach
