I have no idea what P2BXBSE.DLL is, it's not on my system.
But here's a way to reinstall MFC40.DLL. (Not easy since
Explorer requires MFC40.DLL to be running and if Explorer is
running, you can't delete MFC40.DLL or rename it. And many
programs that come with it will not overwrite it if it's
there already.)
Boot to "Command Prompt Only". (Hit F8 when you see "Starting
Windows 95..." and choose choice 6 from the menu.)
You'll be in DOS mode. Enter the following DOS commands:
CD WINDOWS
CD SYSTEM
REN MFC40.DLL MFC40.XXX
CD..
WIN
You should begin to boot into normal Win95 but you will get
an error message that MFC40.DLL is missing. Click on "OK"
and Windows will boot anyway. (Click twice if necessary.)
Reinstall some program that requires (comes with) MFC40.DLL.
For example, Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer, or
almost any big program.
Regards,
Bill
