I received, this morning, an email message from "Mail Delivery Subsystem
<[log in to unmask]> entitled "Returned mail: Host unknown (Name
server: top.gif: host not found". To my knowledge I never originated or
sent a message to "top.gif".
According to the returned mail message the original message was received
"Tue, 26 Nov 2002 07:42:20 -0500 (EST) from logs-mtc-th.proxy.aol.com
(64.12.102.5)".
I never sent such a message. Is this kind of thing an indication that I
may have a trojan or some such on my computer that may be originating
messages without my knowledge? What else could be a possible cause for
this sort of thing?
I am using Netscape 7.0 as my email clint. My operating system Windows
ME and this is a Dell computer with 512 ram and 20 gig hard drive about
1/2 full. I have the complete returned message with all the header,
etc., information. I'll be glad to forward it to anyone that might be
interested and can help.
Thanks in advance,
Loy
