I recently upgraded to a larger hard drive and installed Win 95 in place
of Win 3.1. After the Win 95 installation, Netscape Communicator
prompted me to install the Win 95 edition of Netscape Communicator which
I did. The Win 95 version of Netscape Communicator uses the DUN portion
of Win 95 and, during the installation of Netscape, it installed DUN for
Win 95. I never had any intention of installing DUN on this computer
because there was no need for it. Now, since the installation of DUN, I
have all kinds of problems:

        1) Win 95 now asks for a user name and password each time it is
booted. This is a home computer and there is no need whatsover for a
password. Several people very unfamiliar with computers use this system
and the user name/password request just scares them to death. Although
the screen says that if you don't enter anything you won't see the
screen again, that certainly isn't the case because no one has ever
entered anything and it still comes up every time Win 95 is booted. How
can I stop the user name/password screen from coming up each time Win 95
is booted?

        2) DUN times out and hangs up the modem after five minutes. It says
that it is doing this because of no activity but there is activity with
the mouse, keyboard, etc. I have been unable to locate anywhere in Win
95 where the time-out feature (bug?) can be disabled. Is there any way
that I can disable the automatic timeout and hang up of the modem?
