What? You're still using Notepad for your text editing chores when Super
NoteTab Light is around? This friendly, free 32-bit text editor puts Notepad
to shame. Super NoteTab Light can open several large documents (up to 2GB) at
once, each in their own tabbed window. It has a clean, highly customizable
interface, complete with a toolbar and status bar. The often-imitated Editor
Clipbook tool lets you easily insert any kind of boilerplate text (such as
acronymns, HTML tags, glossaries, and "smilies") into your documents. Super
NoteTab Light is "Internet friendly" too; it can open links or view documents
directly in your Web browser. Conversion functions include stripping HTML
tags, converting text to HTML, sorting lines, and changing case. Other
features include search-and-replace, calculation of mathematical expressions,
full font support, shortcut menus, and the ability to easily reopen favorite
files and folders. This "light" edition is nearly identical to the full
commercial version. However, for a measly 5 bucks you can convert it and get
spell checking, a thesaurus, the ability to create outline documents, and
replacement of text in files on a disk -- which could make it the only word
processor you'll ever need. (You can try out these commercial features for 30
days.) Other flavors of NoteTab are available online. Note: Super NoteTab was
