I have an NEC  about 5 years old and running win 98,

   when I power up I get a blue screen and it says a fatal exception 0E has occurred at 0028:CO2AO26C IN VWIN32(05)+0000BF4  .When I hit any key to continue I get a black screen with white dots on it.
   can some one tell me whats happened to my pc? I can start it in safe mode but dont know what to check for.
