Howdy Neighbor,

I also use Win7 64 but I use Firefox 3.6 That is all I use unless I have to
read work email then It's IE, whatever version came with W7. I am loathe to
use IE. If not for the Exchange Web interface I'd dump IE in a heartbeat. IE
is pathetic, opens in 700 tiny windows no matter what of all the hundreds of
key stroke/stand on your head combos that used to cure that nonsense. It
just is not near as smart out of the box as EVERY other browser on the
planet.

As to your question, with what I have mentioned FF works great. Pages load
fast, and read easy. Charter on the other had does seem to have its share of
minor outages. By minor I mean a loss of connectivity usually in the
afternoon. Could be because of heat, north county does get 100° or a lot
more regularly. By minor I mean a matter of 1-5 minutes at a time and more
than once. Very annoying as this is when I get home from work and I’m trying
to catch up.

Yes, I may try 9 but not until it is final. I'm too old to be their beta
tester. Thought about Chrome, but FF suits me just fine.
Not much help but my actual experience, not speculation.

-----Original Message-----

Since switching to Windows 7 (64 bit) I seem to have problems connecting to
websites when using Minefield (Firefox beta), or other browsers. Internet
Explorer does not seem to have these issues. The problem is not total - that
is, I CAN connect using the other browsers, but they seem to have difficulty
doing so and take longer to connect. Sometimes they don't connect for a
while.
My question to the list is: have others experienced the same problem? I am
trying to figure out if there is something in my particular setup, or did
Microsoft put something into Windows 7 to make life harder for other
browsers. My ISP is Charter cable - it is also possible, but not probable
that something with Charter is causing such issues.

Thank you.
