I think what I'll do is track it a bit more thoroughly. It happens so
infrequently that I forget about it until it happens again. It
doesn't seem like a problem, although I have noticed it more
frequently on some systems.

Odd little thing.

I am generally not running an e-mail program at the time. I may
running AIM, but not talking to anyone. I don't leave my e-mail
programs open.

I guess what I need to do is hear it, record the environment, then
wait for it again ... and again ... then compare the environments.

It doesn't seem nefarious. I'm just DARN CURIOUS!
