Hello
I have a friend who finds it very difficult to type because of health
reasons.
I am hoping to find a good voice recognition program, that takes very
little coaching/training.
The price of the software (or maybe associated hardware) is not a
problem ... it just needs to be very easy to use.
TIA ... Mick
I have helped a friend set up and use Dragon Naturally Speaking,
Standard Edition. It is not complicated to install and use, unless you
have never installed a PC program before. You HAVE to read the
instruction book, which is pretty well written. It does take time and
patience -- a lot -- to train the program to recognize your voice. But
it works surprisingly well. You can also speak commands, such as "Open
new document," and "Exit program."
The Preferred Edition is much more expensive but offers only a couple of
additional features. With one of them, a blind person can check what he
or she has written by having the program read the text out loud. Unless
you need those features, it isn't worth the extra money.
