Just personal, I would have 3 partitions for winMe.

C: would be a small 2G partition, only for winMe itself and other MS updates
stuff ...

D: data partition, with all important data on it (eg. documents, saved game
backup, downloads)

E: partition for your software installation.

right now I have 4 similar partitions (one for pagefile only) on my win2k
machine (I'll never allow win9x touch my HDD every again, Never XP either
unless MS gave up the attempt to control users' freedom of hardware/software
on XP).
