James:
"I am interested in setting up a network (probably 3-4 users) in my home. I
have a copy of Windows NT 4.0, Windows 95, and Windows 98. Can I set up a
server and use Windows NT on it, and use 95/98 for the other (client)
machines? "
Yes.
"If I can do this, can I also run my cable modem into the server (Windows
NT) and use that connection on all machines, or would I need separate
software for the modem sharing?"
Yes, you can and No you should not need additional software. Set the cable
modem up as a shared device on the NT machine and the other machines on the
net should be able to use it.
