Hi Carol

Do you have a read-writeable CDROM?
If you do, store the programs on a CD-RW  media.
Or a second hard drive, if you have one.
Reformat and install Win 98.
Apply you anti-virus and firewall. ETC.
Do not download email.
Update Win 98 first.
Update antivirus and firewall next.
Update everything before downloading email.
Never open attachments to email unless you know who and what it
is. I hope this helps.
