I eagerly switched to version 3 when it came out, and next day uninstalled
it and went back to 2.  I found it to be too large, way too slow to load,
had too many features that I didn't care about, the layout was different,
it skipped during playback, and crashed often.

Since then, I'm sure they've gotten it better, but I'm happy with Version
2.  If you check the feedback on their site, you'll see that it seems to be
evenly divided between those who prefer 2, and those who prefer 3, with
many a flame resulting.

Your mileage may vary, of course, but in my *opinion*, 2 is the better
program.  (Especially since he was asking for a simple player)
