Have a look at the menu items:-
Tools/Options
then the "General" tag
Remove the tick from R1C1 Reference style and you will be back in
business.

Some early spread sheets came with this reference style and even
now it can be useful when working with macros and switching
between columns a large distance away from each other. Easier to
calculate in numbers than it is to count letters.
