If it came that way, and the files are zipped, it's probably the
restore/backup files for the machine.. Are the files a year old??  If you
have your own backup or have changed it so much you probably don;t need them
since there's probably updates for everything you have..  I doubt they're
slowing you down.  How much is free in the C drive?  Make sure all the temp
files are cleaned out and try and limit the programs that load at startup..
All the icons at the bottom of the screen on the rightin the taskbar are
running and will tend to slow down the machine.
