Especially with early versions (and some later) IE6 is reportedly buggy on
some systems, for which the remedy seems to be to go back to Version 5.
You don't say why you were trying to repair IE6 in the first place.
If it continues to remain buggy on Win98 (not SE?), you might be best to
revert to an earlier version. IE6 seems to be designed mainly for later
OS's. Works for some, not for others.
It's always a gamble when you update.
