Try Open Office. Pretty good office suite and it's a free dowmload. 
Compatible with MS Word, Excel etc.

I've forgotten how to post a question here!  It's been so long since I've 
posted anything aside from an answer now and then.  But I have a question 
now, so I hope this is going to the right place.

I have a friend whose computer was recently hacked into and she had to have 
it wiped clean.  She's looking for a good, free word processing software to 
use.  Are there any out there besides Notepad and MSWorks?

Also, can I get the address where she can sign up for PCSoft?  She want's 
to, but for the life of me I can't find the IP address to give her!
